UAE hosts Ericsson Truck Roadshow

· Director General of UAE TRA inaugurates the event

· Interactive event gathers operators around the region

· Offers next generation sustainable mobile solutions

With the presence of the Director General of TRA, UAE Mohamad AlGhanim and high officials in UAE as well as operators around the region, Ericsson showcase its next generation of technologies at a virtual tour at the Yas Marina Circuit in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.

Held under the motto “Time to Act Space to Think” the Ericsson truck roadshow provides its visitors an experience designed to examine new technologies and trends as well as Ericsson’s latest future-oriented solutions.

With a highly creative and interactive environment that focuses on the telecommunication business, the event will witness demonstrations of LTE and other sate-of-the-art technology, and will explore the latest trends that are reshaping the communication industry and that are empowering societies and businesses, and are in turn creating sustainability.

The event was inaugurated by H.E. Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim, TRA Director General, who speaking on the occasion of the event said: “Interactive events establish creative synergies between all the stakeholders in the industry; they represent a good opportunity for ICT partners to share ideas and views on common issues.”

“As a part of its role in regulating and supervising the ICT sector in the UAE, TRA is committed to participating in these events to further enhance the relationship between the businesses and to develop societal growth.” Al Ghanim added.

Ray Hassan, President of Ericsson Gulf Council Countries (GCC), Ericsson, said, “Ericsson presents sustainable solutions and alternatives that increase efficiency, reduce operating costs and also develop new opportunities and add new revenue streams.” He added, “On the one hand, broadband penetration can further boost the GDP growth and help create jobs and on the other, providing broadband to the mass population can bring massive development to business, learning, health and education.”

The event, which hosted demonstrations of the latest technologies for full-service broadband and beyond, and gave a taste of Ericsson technology, provided the opportunity to get a real experience of Ericsson’s portfolio that enables all-networked devices which are creating a digital society and a sustainable world. It demonstrated new business models, energy efficiency and future-oriented offerings.

According to global estimate forecasts there will be some 50 billion connected devices by 2020 in addition to a very high device uptake. Hence, governments, media content providers, regulators, operators, vendors and consumer, are all opt to benefit from a well-connected world and an ever-increasing array of new services. New devices and new industries create new opportunities in various fields, such as traffic systems, automotive transport and logistics, utilities – smart grid, security – connected buildings, home appliances, medical automation, remote healthcare, ATM, monitoring and control.

By bringing the roadshow to UAE and to all operators around GCC, makes it possible to engage with customers in innovative ways.
